Tarea Tema 2 - Recursos para Filtrar Documentación Científica

 Dear professors and colleagues,

    My research area is Electrical Engineering, especially focused on power electronics for LED drivers.

    Besides ResearchGate and Google Scholar, a very useful tool that I often use is a free website called Connected Papers. This website enales to known the "references of the references", which helps to filter the most important references in a given research field. It is important to mention that this research tool becomes possible to know "the origin of a research area" through its "family tree", thus showing the research fields that were developed based on the first one and also the gaps in the literature. The Connected Papers helps me to speed up my research and not loose time with less important references and repeated papers.

    Additionally, I use daily the IEEExplore, which is the most important international website in the electrical engineering area, created by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This website contains specific filters which enables to achieve excellent references in just a few minutes. I've been working with the IEEExplore since 2015 and it is always very important and straightforward.

Who is the author behind?

    He is  Igor Bertoncello Barboza, born in Santa Maria, RS, Brazil, in October 10th, 1997. He received his degree in Electrical Engineering by the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Brazil, in January of 2020. He did his final mandatory internship at the Fraunhofer Institute in Dresden, Germany, between August 2019 and January 2020.     It is possible to use several social networks in the scientific/academic environment, in order to achieve the highest achievable quality for the research developed.      Some of the most famous and recognized research social networks are: ORCID, Google Scholar, About.me, ResearchGate.     In my perspective, these tools and scientific social networks enable to find a wider range of publications, in different editors (IEE, Widley, Elselvier, etc) and to establish contact with many relevant scientists of our field worldwide.     The features provided by these networks are excellent tools for the Researcher 2.0, once they are well used.
